System Admin/Remedy Developer

Arcata Associate, Inc. is an engineering services and information technology company supporting NASA and the DOD.  We currently have an opening at our Research Facilities and Engineering Support Services Contract at the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.

 

The Remedy Application Developer is responsible for maintaining and administering Remedy Action Request (AR) 6.0 and 6.3 modules that support our business operations.  Remedy modules include Help Desk, Asset Management and Mid-Tier with Crystal Reports used for enterprise reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

?  Identify, evaluate, test, implement and maintain functionality of Remedy AR system.

?  Develop & design applications including but not limited to forms, menus, fields and workflow to meet business requirements.

?  Perform requirements gathering tasks for routine and complex application enhancements and integrations.

?  Assist in providing server management and performance monitoring of the Remedy AR system.

?  Perform program debugging, data analysis, and system analysis on the Remedy AR system.

?  Ensure that new functionality or enhancements meet current or projected business needs.

?  Complete application documentation for Remedy application enhancements and changes.

?  Support the definition and capture of Remedy-specific metrics and reports, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to meet organization business needs.

?  Rapidly restore service in case of failure and eliminate root causes of problems to prevent recurrence

?  Maximize system availability and tune system for optimal performance

?  Create tabular and matrix reports using crystal reports for management

Technical Requirements

?  Must have experience in customizing and maintaining Remedy AR system v.6.0/ 6.3.

?  Must have experience working with the Mid-Tier module.

?  Advanced understanding of databases and programming.

?  Advanced knowledge and understanding of information systems and network technologies.

?  Experience with SQL Server or Oracle databases is a plus.

?  4+ years experience with BMC Remedy AR System, Mid-Tier version 6.0 and 6.3.

?  Thorough understanding of specific tools such as AR Admin, AR User and AR Import.

Qualifications

?  Four year technical college degree or equivalent work experience.

?  A minimum of 2 years directly or related work experience in a technical support environment.

?  Must be an effective communicator with high attention to detail and the ability to work either independently or as part of a cross-functional team in a fast paced environment.

?  High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Project.

?  Ability to provide outstanding customer service, problem solving, and technical writing expertise.

?  Strong verbal and written communication skill

Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards,  prolonged sitting while using the computer and the telephone and attending meetings, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness.
