Systems Administrator/Engineer
Vickers & Nolan Enterprises (VNE) is seeking a Systems Administrator/Engineer to support a legacy US Marine Corps Intelligence system in Stafford, VA (just outside Quantico). All applicants must possess an active Top Secret clearance. Prior military experience in the Intelligence field strongly desired.
Functions:
? Perform UNIX and Windows system administration, to include creating users, installing clients, and troubleshooting issues.
? Research, test, and evaluate hardware and software for integration.
? Support ongoing system accreditation, upgrades, integration testing, and training.
? Support system setup and training at the Marine Expeditionary Units (MEUs) and Radio Battalions.
? Participate in testing exercises.
? Participate in periodic system reviews, meetings, and presentations.
? Travel expected approximately 10%.
Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes:
? UNIX and Windows operational support and application deployment.
? Understanding of RF and network communications, particularly for US military intelligence programs.
? Knowledge of working standards and requirements in a secured environment.
? Ability to work with and contribute to a team of program managers, hardware and software engineers, configuration managers, and writers.
Experience & Education:
? BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
? 6-10 years? military and/or contractor experience in intelligence field.
VNE is a small, engineering consulting company located in Stafford, VA. VNE provides experienced and dedicated system architects, software engineers, subject matter experts (in tactical intelligence), financial analysts, and program managers as consultants to US military projects and programs. VNE also develops training courses and tools to prepare the warfighters to effectively employ tactical intelligence systems and provide management guidance to the Government organizations that develop these systems.
