Systems Engineer – Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)

This position will be located in their Albuquerque, New Mexico facility. This facility houses more than 1,100 individuals assigned to various programs including Future Combat Systems, military aircraft displays and integrated systems.

Description:

The Albuquerque engineering organization has an immediate need for Systems Engineers to support Class I vehicle development efforts. The candidate will assist in the effort to develop systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles that are presently at various stages of development. The successful candidate will provide support for a variety of engineering development tasks including system analyses, evaluations, trade studies, systems requirements definition and development, product capability and feasibility assessments, and Future Combat Systems networking. Interaction with customers and end users as well as with vendors will be required. This person will also have extensive involvement in field testing products; this will require travel to various installations on a periodic basis.

The preferred candidate must have well rounded systems engineering development skills. These positions require experience with flight/vehicle controls, sensor selection and component integration experience, including networking and communication experience. Additional skills that we are seeking, but that are not required, include:

? Systems design and integration experience with additional expertise in:
? Reliability, Maintainability
? Safety Analyses (such as Hazard Analyses or Assessments, Fault Trees, Systems Safety Analyses)
? Military (or Army) Training in the use and, deployment, and support of Military Systems, Transportability, Repair, and Logistics of Military Systems

? Systems Applications of Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) and Future Combat Systems Networking ? radio communications including real-time Video transmission
? Knowledge of EMI, TEMPEST and other considerations for electro-magnetic environment compatibility
? Significant time (30% to 50%) may be required of this candidate to support and assist in the flight test phase, in a wide range of outdoor weather environments at various times of the day and night.

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate must have well rounded systems engineering skills. These positions will require the successful candidate to work closely with engineering professionals both internally as well as externally. As such, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must. The successful candidate must have experience working with integrated product teams and have excellent understanding of cradle to grave systems development. It will be important that this candidate be able to work in a team based environment and have the ability to collaborate with a broad range of professionals both internally and externally. This individual should also have testing experience both in a controlled laboratory environment as well as in the field.

Additional requirements include:

? Six years minimum related engineering experience and be a US citizen
? A Bachelors or advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Systems Engineering
? Ability to work with limited work direction
? The ideal candidate should be: highly motivated; with excellent written and interpersonal skills; the ability to multi-task work assignments; along with an interest in product development as it pertains to business development strategies
? Experience with Slate, Rational, MATLAB (including Stateflow and Simulink) model based design, Teamview, and 3 Views
