Crane Aerospace & Electronics - Eldec Corporation is a world leader in aircraft system applications for sensing, electrical power, brake controls, fuel and lubrication pumps, flow meters, and cabin systems. Our products include high quality, high-reliability low voltage power supplies for use in avionics electronic systems, battery chargers, AC-DC converters, position sensing systems and transducers for pressure and fuel flow. Essential Job Functions

Establish the system architecture for an electrically-controlled hydraulic system. "Hands-On" position responsible for all system engineering aspects from initial product R&D phases up through transition-to-production and certification.

Apply your working knowledge of Requirements Management, including requirements capture, flowdown/traceability, validation, verification, and change management. Generate structured systems documentation (SDD, SRD, ICD, FHA, VTP, etc.).

Plan, model, simulate, specify, and integrate mechanical and hydraulic components that reside in a system comprised of microcontrollers, embedded software, and sensors. Develop algorithms using strong analytical and math skills.

Support certification of essential and critical level control systems for aircraft retrofits (Cert Plan, STC, etc.).

Education or Training Required



BSME or equivalent required with 10+ years experience as a system engineer of mechanical-hydraulic control applications, with 5 years in a lead role ? preferably in an aerospace environment (FAA DER highly desirable).

Minimum Experience Required

Requirements Management best practices

Aircraft avionic systems (FMS and ACARS functionality and interfacing a plus)

Certification of essential and critical level avionics in aircraft retrofit market

Serial data communications (ARINC-429, RS-232, RS-485 and MIL-1553 data buses a plus)

Mechanical/hydraulic testing a plus.

Embedded microprocessors, sensors, system simulators, and aircraft wiring/routing interface standards a plus.
