Rolls-Royce is pleased to announce an opening for a Technical Lead Workshop in our Mirimar, FL facility.

The successful candidate will:

Provide Technical leadership on all Workshop activities including but not limited to overhaul, repair, refurbishment and assessment of RR equipment. Maintain daily work schedule to provide on-time delivery of products and/or services to our Customers (internal and external). Provide daily supervision of Repair & Overhaul Service Engineers (from Workshop and Field Service) to ensure Customer commitments are made while achieving the RR Commercial Marine budget targets. The Tech Lead position is responsible for the technical and thus Quality aspects of all Overhaul & Repair activities performed in the workshop. The ?administration? of the staff will not be in the work scope of this position initially but will be introduced over time; management of their time however, is a key responsibility for this position. The Tech Lead will be accountable for developing procedural documents by which to work to, ensuring compliance to those documents and maintaining accurate records for each job performed in the workshop. Promote a safe working environment.
Other key aspects of this role include: Assisting Management in determining the task and capacity for the Workshop. Performance management of Workshop personnel. Building and maintaining a solid working relationship with their colleagues locally, within the GSN and at the OEM factories. Assisting in ensuring the integrity of any Intellectual Property used locally for the workshop. Working with the Shop Foreman towards a harmonious operation in the workshop for both assignments and personnel. Advise/assist with the preparation of RFQ?s to suppliers and Quotes to Customers.
Maintain clear lines of communication between personnel and functions (i.e. from Service to workshop to Parts to Management).

Position requirements include:

Position requires expert knowledge of core RR Commercial Marine equipment, including but not limited to: main propeller hubs & blades, tunnel thrusters (including hub), water jets (all sizes), Rotatable (Z-Drive) thrusters and Stabilizer fins. Knowledge of other OEM equipment will be advantageous. At least 10 years in a Commercial Marine environment with exposure to Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic systems. A proven history of Leadership of at least 5 years.
Understanding of Quality Systems, Process Control and BS Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
