Telecommunications Architect/Manager

Responsible for all voice solutions across program including PBX-based services, voice over IP, unified messaging, wireless, automated call distribution, interactive voice response, and other voice telecommunications services. Voice Architect / Manager will provide leadership for voice engineering assignments and oversee project teams composed of analysts, architects and engineers. Lead the transformation from a TDM-based voice solution to an IP-based voice solution based on SIP protocols. Oversees systems and technology integration requirements across multiple voice application and service areas. Evaluate approaches that improve the performance and cost effectiveness of all voice solutions ? fixed and wireless. May also be involved in subcontract management for voice equipment, operations, maintenance and complex problem resolution.

 

Candidate must have knowledge of services typically offered by Centrex capabilities delivered through a telecommunications partner and an understanding of how to establish the call routing (signaling) capabilities through Key Systems and PBXs to the telecommunication partner?s Class 5 switches. Prior experience in transforming a TDM-based voice solution to an IP-based voice solution using SIP protocols, power over Ethernet from the LAN infrastructure, centralized voicemail boxes, and unified messaging is required. Responsible for managing cost and schedule for voice projects. Candidate must be capable of working cross-functionally with other program teams, program office staff, and customer representatives. Prior experience working with and managing large subcontractors a must. Position will be based in Richmond / Chesterfield, VA with occasional travel to the DC / Metro area. Education: Technical Bachelor?s, Master?s degree or equivalent experience. Typical experience: 15+ years with PhD, 20+ years with Master?s.
