Thermal Spray Technicians are the heart of our engineered surface coatings business and we are in need of a few talented people who can grow with us and enjoy the rewards of that growth.

 

Thermal Spray Coating Technicians are trained to operate state-of-the-art Plasma and HVOF equipment that is applying protective coatings to a variety of aerospace and power generation parts. Your current or previous experience in this field will position you well to succeed as part of our company. Your ability to learn these operations based on general mechanical or machining skills can also qualify you for this opportunity even if you have not done spray work before. For example, people with the following experiences may be qualified to quickly learn the job:

 

Welding  -  Plating  -  Grit Blast & Peening  -  Aerospace Parts Production

Position Description

 

Basic Responsibilities:

 

1. Following simple technical plans, drawings and sketches that describe the set-up and operation of a spray operation within a booth.

 

2. Ensuring that the customer's parts have been adequately prepared for the spray application.

 

3. Learning to operate the Plasma, HVOF and Combustion equipment in order to perform the actual coating application per work instructions and recording all applicable data using the associated systems.

 

4. Adhering to the in-process inspection procedures to verify that the coating operation is consistently meeting the tech plans and customer needs. This may include spraying and evaluating samples in order to show compliance. It also involves using mechanical instruments such as calipers and micrometers.

 

5. Making the appropriate use of all processing materials such as masking and cleaning solutions.

 

6. Ensuring high rates of first-time yield and minimizing re-work.

Positions are available at our Hebron, Kentucky plant on all shifts, however, our most significant need is currently on 2nd Shift (3-11) and 3rd Shift (11-7).
