Training Specialist

 

Develops, coordinates, documents and conducts internal training programs.

The Training Specialist monitors the training program and modifies it as necessary to ensure that all identified needs are being met. Will consist of off-site training sessions, seminars, self-directed study courses and in-house teaching sessions.

Responsible to administer the company's safety program and support of HR programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist Department Managers in training needs assessments and determination of the most appropriate training methods.

Develop Annual Master Training Schedule and monthly class schedules.

Oversee the design and implementation of the organization's training program.

Develop lesson plans and conduct training sessions as required for compliance, HR, procedural and soft-skills topics, using appropriate training methods including computer-based training (CBT), Sametime meetings and/or in-person classes.

Consult with internal subject-matter experts to assist with the development, delivery, coordination and recording of their training sessions.

Assist with scheduling and coordination of training programs both in-house and off-site.

Coordinate approval process, registration, payment and documentation of attendance at outside seminars or classes.

Maintain accuracy of the Training Database, including up-to-date training courses, training materials and complete and accurate training files for all SNC employees.

Lead the New Employee Orientation for SNC, ensuring all new employees have received initial training.

Responsible to present orientation modules or ensure completion of them via CBTs.

Instruct on the use of Intranet features and applications.

Participate in ISO and CMMI audits of training records.

 

SAFETY:

Responsible to develop, monitor and administer company's Drug Free Workplace Testing program.

Responsible to develop, monitor and maintain the company's Safety program.

Serve as first-responder to all safety-related incidents. Investigate accidents and coordinate Worker's Compensation reports and claims.

Maintain and update Safety Manual and Safety Processes per OSHA requirements.



Act as chairman of the Safety Committee, leading safety inspections and emergency evacuation teams and processes.

Maintain MSDS logs and approvals.

Maintain safety recordkeeping.

Coordinate High Risk Area deployments, ensuring completion of HRA procedures for each deployment.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours

Assist with HR projects as required, such as with job descriptions, new hire introduction memos, company newsletters, employee reviews, company-sponsored fitness events, and company functions.

Assist with coordination of training and provide training for off-site offices.

Regular visits to Subs/ Divisions/ Satellite offices for Training/ Safety Program Support and compliance audits.

 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of 2 years of training and program development experience required.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Proficiency in Word and Powerpoint required.

This position requires strong organization, presentation and communications skills.
