BUSINESS

The company is a provider of manufacturing, software and hardware design engineering and testing services for electronic products for the Aerospace and Defense market place.  It is also well-established in the design and production of encryption hardware for the US Government and its Agencies.  The company custom manufactures complex circuit card assemblies, subsystems and end-user products for use in a wide variety of markets, including avionics, space, military instrumentation and industrial controls.

 

Each business presents unique challenges but common to all are rapid and constant change, strong competition, and a need to grow their business into strategic segments. Each business must be held accountable to meet their annual plan and be challenged to grow the business into complimentary applications. In addition there may be synergies between the businesses that need to be explored and implemented to the benefit of the overall business.

 

 

POSITION  

 

As Vice President of Operations for the Electronics Group, this individual will be responsible for the conception, development and execution of strategies to systematically provide operations expertise that meet the needs of our customer demands on time and within budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES



 

 In collaboration with the companies management team, create an operations business plan designed to improve overall performance including DL/DMcost of sales, DL/DM overhead, on time delivery, quality, cycle-time and factory thru-put.

 

Function as a member of the executive staff and provide overall leadership, direction and counsel.  Participate in the development and implementation of the overall Strategic Plan.

 

Implement an organizational structure and strategy that will enhance the operating effectiveness and efficiencies of the businesses.

 

Develop and nurture key customer contacts to enhance the companies ability to anticipate and meet the needs of the customers.

 

Attract the appropriate talent needed to execute against plan and identify and develop high potential employees to meet short and long term talent needs.

 

Develop opertating plans an budgets that are consistent with the long term strategic plan for manufacturing, manufacturing engineering and materials management.

 

Create an environment that rewards excellent performance and attracts top talent.

 

Maintains a current knowledge of industry trends, manufacturing processes/equipment and emerging technologies.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Defense background a plus

 

?  BA/BS required with advanced degree preferred

 

?  20 + years experience in various operations assignments for high technology companies

 

?  Top Secret security clearance desired

 

?  Demonstrated:

 

o Record of achievement in an operations role with responsibility for a $100M+ facility

 

o Ability to implement fundamental change in a business

 

o Record of career advancement with increasing levels of  responsibility;

 

o Experience and effectiveness in leading business relationships with key customers

 

o Ability to attract, retain and motivate a performance driven management team.

 

o Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees.
