Weapon Systems Program Manager

The candidate will provide high-level advice and assistance across the full spectrum of acquisition disciplines supporting an Air Force system weapons acquisition and integration effort, as well as new and emerging capabilities. This individual will analyze, monitor, and report on weapons program areas that offer technology and/or resource sharing for this Air Force system. This individual will need to review new DoD, Air Force and Center policies and directives, as well as System Program Office (SPO) policies and directives to identify impacts to the program. This individual will then recommend courses of action to minimize the impact of complying with these acquisition and procedure changes.

This candidate will provide system program management for this AF system?s weapons program including documentation and acquisition support required for coordination of individual program schedules, documentation and requirements on a required basis. This individual will develop and prepare program briefing material to include program plans, schedules, risk management plans, program management reviews, sustainability reviews, quarterly acquisition program reviews, advanced technology councils, combined portfolio reviews, program executability reviews, and all other program briefing materials as required to support the System Program Manager.

This individual will also perform reviews of new DoD, AF, AFMC and ASC policies to include defense transformation, enterprise management, and spiral development and leverage these initiatives to develop new strategies for accelerated fielding of psychological operations capabilities.

The candidate will assist in identifying leading edge technologies suitable for demonstration on related platforms during exercises and experiments as well as assist in defining objectives, analyzing results and formulating recommendations for transfer of technologies to operational weapon systems.

Requirements Candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with seven or more years of program/project management experience in running multi-million dollar DoD programs. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience working within the DoD Acquisition environment. In addition, the successful candidate must have experience with contractual requirements, budget planning and/or financial and technical xchedules planning. Having experience with Airborne Sensors and related technology trade-offs is desired.

Security Clearance Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. An In-scope SSBI (within 5 years) and a U.S. Government clearance within the last 24 months is required.
