Job Title:  Production Supervisor , Line 107 and 207

Department: Production

Reports to:  Manufacturing Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Shift: 6:00am to 3:30 or 3:00pm to 11:30pm

 

Carlyle Inc. a manufacturer of customized wire and cable harnesses is seeking experienced, hands-on an high energy production supervisors to assist us with continual growth and success. Supervisors do not need experience as an assembler but must have experience as a supervisor in an electrical manufacturing environment.



 

SUMMARY: 

Through subordinate staff; plans organizes, controls and directs the activities and material of a specific production area(s) in order to meet quality, cost and schedule objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

?  Coordinates flow of work and materials based on scheduled customer orders, established priorities and availability/capability of workers, parts, materials and equipment.

?  Determines (pre-production) capacity requirements.  Plans sequence of operations to provide guidance for assembly operators.

?  Communicates directly with Production Scheduler on any conflicts with capacity availability, scheduled workload or parts/material shortages.

?  Provides the necessary tools and documentation for individuals to perform their job.

?  Develops an atmosphere that encourages employee participation.

?  Motivates and counsels employees in preserving an efficient and productive workplace.

?  Introduces new methods/techniques to improve quality and/or efficiency.

?  Interfaces with all levels of Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance staff.

?  Maintains a safe working environment.

?  Implements continuous improvement ideas and suggestions.

?  Develops and posts performance measures for scrap, efficiencies and yields.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

?  Responsible for the direction, coordination and evaluation of production personnel.  Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance to company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws.

?  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assisting, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

?  Provides ongoing training to applicable staff to develop and encourage their technical and operational performance.  Meets with appropriate staff on a timely basis for performance evaluations and goal setting.

?  Ensures company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all Production department functions.

?  Displays effective leadership as defined by the Carlyle Model Manager guidelines.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

?  Other duties as required in support of the department and company.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

?  High School diploma or equivalent and/or college related courses.

?  Three to five years directly related supervisory experience.

?  Ability to manage company personnel policies and procedures consistently.

?  Ability to communicate effectively showing excellent written and verbal communication skills with a diverse group of people.

?  Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
