With corporate offices located in Bakersfield, CA, Bolthouse Farms is a major producer and provider of fresh and processed food and beverage products. Bolthouse Farms has been in? operations since 1915 and employees over 2500 people in five facilities.

?SUMMARY? OF? POSITION

?

The Manager of Employee Relations at Wm. Bolthouse Farms, Inc. is responsible for the overall administration of all company employment policies. Ensures company?s compliance with state and federal employment regulations. Serves as employee advocate and management liaison in all employment issues. Supervises in-house security department. Serves as company training and development officer. Coordinates the preparation of company/employee social events and celebrations.

?DUTIES? AND? RESPONSIBILITIES

?

1.????? Administration of Company?s Employment Policies:

?Establish, interpret, communicate, and apply consistently all company employment policies, procedures and rules.Oversee the application and interpretation of the company?s Employee Handbooks.Provide leadership and appropriate conflict resolution techniques to managers and supervisors in day to day resolution of employment issues.Administrate fairly and expeditiously the company?s Layoff, Recall and Transfer PoliciesStay abreast and informed of changes in employment legislation and their impact on our company.Teach, train, coach, mentor, and serve as in-house consultant on employment policies to the company?s 1st and 2nd line supervisors and managers.Conduct quarterly Focus Group meetings in all the operating departments to give representatives from the work force a forum at which they can voice their concerns and suggestions to management.

2.????? Serve as Company Training and Development Officer

?Develop and coordinate training programs for management, mid level and first line supervisors. (Leadership Training)Develop Process Improvement Training Program at worker level. Develop and administrate training and apprenticeship program for general and semi-skilled employees. Establish relationships with outside training providers including the Employers Training Panel of the State of California for purposes of grant eligibility.

3.????? Responsible for Plant Security

?In conjunction with other departments, develop and administrate Plant Security programs for all Bolthouse Farms facilities including pedestrian and vehicle access, parking, camera surveillance, turnstile use, and alarm systems.

???????? Oversee 8-10 member Security Unit

???????? Screen, select, hire and train candidates for Security Guard position.

4.????? Responsible for Employee Relations Activities

?

???????? Plan and coordinate quarterly publication of Company Newsletter Carrot Talk

???????? Coordinate annual company picnic at the Kern County Fair.

???????? Coordinate employee luncheons (Christmas, Cinco de Mayo).

???????? Develop and administrate company?s Employee Service Award Program.

???????? Promote and revitalize the use of the Employee Suggestion Box

5.????? Management Reporting Responsibilities

?

???????? Develop and distribute to Management? a monthly Employee Relations Report?

???????? Report to senior management the issues and outcomes of the quarterly Focus Group meetings with the representatives of the work force.

6.????? Supervisory Responsibilities

?

???????? Directly supervises the 8-10 person Security Unit.

???????? Possible addition of Admin. Asst.

?QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

?

1.?? Education and Experience:

?

???????? Bachelor?s Degree required, in Human Resources Management, Public Administration or similar field.

???????? 5-8 years experience in Employee Relations or Human Resources Management.

?

2.????? Language Skills

?Must be bilingual (Spanish/English)
