Landscape Manager

Job Description

 

We are looking for a motivated, team orientated professional Landscape Manager who will be responsible for the development and oversight of landscape planning and maintenance needs at a 500+ acre gated residential community. Property includes naturalized areas, 25 acre private forest preserve, lake shores, lawn areas and a vast array of trees, shrubs, and vegetation.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Detail orientated with a high level of organization skills and ability to prioritize work load.  Must have strong customer service skills and be able to attend meetings and participate in Board and Committee meetings as needed.

 

Assist in the preparation of an annual operating budget and long range capital expenditure budget.  Monitor the monthly expenses as they pertain to landscape maintenance and projects.

 

Develop an annual management plan for landscape and tree care.

 

Supervise all contractors retained for the maintenance and development of landscaping projects.

 

Strong communication skills and must demonstrate a solid ability to effectively deal with a number of tasks simultaneously.

 

Prepare and present written and oral reports as necessary.

 

Provide routine on-site inspections.

 

Implementation and achievement of properties goals and objectives.

 

Job Qualifications

 

Degree in Horticulture from recognized university with related Landscape Architecture or Arborist experience

 

Minimum 8 years experience, three at supervisory level, in landscape management of commercial property, park or university campus.

 

Well developed interpersonal skills.

 

Basic computer skills for word processing and spread sheets.
