Award winning Waterloo Gardens, Inc., the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley?s Largest and most respected Gift and Garden Center, is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fill the following position:
Nursery Buyer
Qualified candidates have an associate?s degree in horticultural concentration with emphasis in woody plant material and 3-5 years related experience, retail management and previous buying preferred; or equivalent fulltime experience (8-10 years) in a high volume Garden Center. Applicants must possess a basic knowledge of pest & disease problems on woody ornamentals, identification of herbaceous pest problems a plus.
Excellent leadership and communication skills with proven sales, negotiating and training capacity plus ability to deliver superior customer service required. A highly organized individual with the ability to multitask will thrive in this busy environment. Responsibilities include forecasting, ordering, inventory control, merchandising and marketing. Computer experience required must be literate in MS Office applications. Some travel required
