Our environmental field force is looking Wildlife Technicians to work on various environmental projects. These positions provide an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the environmental field.
Job Description:
In this temporary/seasonal position Wildlife Technicians may get involved in a number of environmental projects. In one project, Technicians will collect and record waterfowl and gull species field data. Work is done from a 18-ft center console outboard boat which the Wildlife Technician operates and or serves as crew chief or crew member. The position may also include field work with similar boats in fish sampling efforts on upstate New York lakes.
Job Experience:
Must have a minimum of an Associates degree in Applied Science in Wildlife or a closely related discipline (environmental science, ecology, biology, etc).
Experience in bird identification, particularly with Eastern North American waterfowl and gull species and fish sampling programs is preferred. Experience in performing technical duties such as sample collection, recording data is required. Must have a clean, valid drivers license. Experience with small boat operations would be a plus.
