Architect I

Architect I GENERAL SUMMARY: Prepares, designs, produces and check drawings and project documents for portions of a large project or a complete small project under general supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Develops basic designs, details and drawings, ensuring the quality and accuracy of drawings.
2.Creates working drawings by use of CAD.
3.Checks and researches file drawings and drawing information to ensure drawing accuracy.
4.Performs the least complex design analyzes and performs localized, basic or single component designs used to develop working drawings.
5.Assists in developing design standards and prepares drawings according to standards.
6.Reviews and approves construction drawings in order to ensure compliance with company criteria.
7.Provide complete design, drafting and coordination of small projects or components of large projects.
Other Requirements:
1.Bachelor's degree in architecture with minimum of one year architectural design experience or equivalent.
or
Minimum three years design experience with an Associates degree in architecture or equivalent.
or
Minimum five years design experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
2.Basic knowledge of architectural practices, principles, procedures and concepts.
3.Basic knowledge of building codes, federal, state and local regulations.
4.Basic knowledge of construction practices.
5.Analytical ability necessary to gather and interpret data.
6.Good written and oral communication skills.
7.Extensive CAD skills and experience.
