Architectural Designer 1

CRS is an I.T. consulting and staffing firm, with offices in Illinois.  However, our clients are located throughout the nation offering a variety of specialty projects!

 

Our current need is for an Architectural Designer to assist our client in the following duties and responsibilities.  This is a 6-month contract assignment. 

 

Prepares, designs, produces, and checks drawings and project documents and analyzes and evaluates project systems for portions of a large project or a complete small project under general supervision.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Develops basic designs, details, and drawings ensuring the quality and accuracy of drawings.

 

2. Creates working drawings by use of CAD.

 

3. Checks and researches file drawings and drawing information to ensure drawing accuracy.

 

4. Performs the least complex design analyzes and calculations and performs localized, basic or single component calculations used to develop working drawings.

 

5. Assists in developing design standards and prepares drawings according to standards.

 

6. Reviews and approves construction drawings in order to ensure compliance with Kmart Criteria.

 

7. Provide complete design calculations, drafting and coordination of small projects or components of large projects.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform essential functions:

 

1. Bachelor?s degree in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering, with minimum of one year engineering design experience or equivalent.

or

Minimum three years design experience with an Associates degree in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.

or

Minimum five years design experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.

 

2. Basic knowledge of architectural and engineering practices, principles, procedures and concepts.

 

3. Basic knowledge of building codes, federal, state and local regulations, and utility company policies and requirements.

 

4. Basic knowledge of construction practices.

 

5. Analytical ability necessary to gather and interpret data.

 

6. Good written and oral communication skills.

 

7. Extensive CAD skills and experience
