Architectural Job Captain

BFGC Architects Planners, Inc. has been serving a wide range of Educational, Health Care, Government, Commercial and Residential clients throughout the State of California since 1949.  With offices in Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo and San Jose, BFGC has the talent and resources to complete major projects successfully while maintaining the kind of personal contact and service usually provided only by a small firm.  We are full- service architecture and planning firm with the capabilities to assist clients in all phases of project needs, from conceptual planning to facility management.

 

Currently, we have positions available in our San Luis Obispo office for Job Captains/Project Leaders with a minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural design and drafting or equivalent education requiring a Bachelors Degree in Architecture or related discipline. Experience in Educational, Government, Health Care, and Commercial facilities projects preferred.

 

Responsibilities include; leading day-to-day assignments and coordination with other project team members to produce design, design development and construction drawings; proficiency in the use of computer assisted design/graphics; execution of architectural documents; and, controlling and monitoring contractual services required in accordance with project requirements.  This candidate should be knowledgeable in business and construction law applications related to projects and contracts. Must have a working knowledge of Building Codes, ADA compliance issues, and zoning ordinance influences. 

 

Candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be self motivated, work as part of a team, be detail oriented, and possess strong leadership,  organizational and time management skills.  EOE.
