 Director of Architectural Technology

This is a leadership and supervisory position in the Atlanta office of Leo A Daly, one of the top ten planning, architecture, engineering and interior design firms in the U.S.  The Atlanta office is an AE practice that focuses on Healthcare, Hospitality, Higher Education and Government projects.

 

Responsibilities for this position include:Mentor all of the office staff with regards to technical architectural subjects Work with the Operations Director to recruit additional technical staff members Lead technical evaluation of staff on an annual basis Perform Project Architect duties on selected projects Guide other Project Architects on a daily basis to perform to the highest levels Maintain existing and develop new production standards Collaborate with the Director of Design to further the office's implementation of BIM Serve as a day-to-day technical resource for all members of the office

Requirements:Licensed architect in Georgia or capable of obtaining a license in Georgia 15 years experience in with emphasis on technical leadership roles Experience in project types similar to those listed above. Hands-on CADD literate, Revit experience a plus Great communicator, good listener

Seeking Project Architect with degree and licensed with good communication skills.  Must have 10 years experience,  strong technical background and AutoCad 2002 experience a must. Responsible for developing, managing, and recording the technical aspects of the project; coordination of all disciplines; and managing the technical team responsible for producing the project construction documents.

 

In addition to the general work responsibilities the Project Architect's responsibilities include the following: 

 

1)  Verifies Scope of Work with Project Manager

2)  Coordinates all disciplines (including consultants)

3)  Completes and maintains the Project Record Book

4)  Follows the Job Plan/Inform the Project Manager of obstacles

5)  Monitors hours/Inform Project Manager of problems; responsible for maintaining monthly percent completes.

6)  Assures completeness, accuracy and coordination of Construction Documents

7)  Attends meetings with Owner as required by Project Manager/prepare meeting minutes

8)  Performs code analysis

9)  Identifies "out of scope work"/inform Project Manager

10) Assembles and coordinates Specifications and Front-end Documents

11) Coordinates agency reviews/plan check/Fire Marshall/Commissions/etc.

12) Understands the project(s) scope, and plans and develops concepts and approaches appropriate to the construction budget and the disciplines in carrying out the project work.

13) Executes the project scope and supervises the staff, appropriate to the production budget and discipline.  Prepare monthly percent completes.

14) Prepares and/or presents technical oral and written presentations.

15) Continuously improves the overall standards of quality.

16) Continuously improves the quality assurance/quality control process.

17) Takes responsibility for and checks their own work as well as the work of others.

18) Prepares percent completes.

19) Supervises the work of professionals, pre-professionals, technicians, and college interns to meet project man-hour goals.

20) Supports the office and co-workers through active mentoring, continuing education and training of team members within the discipline
