Job Description:
Proficient level position. Focus on transportation and/or aviation projects.

A moderately supervised position in a team environment in which primary responsibilities include preparing drawings with Microstation, InRoads and/or CADD, assist in other aspects of plan preparation such as information gathering and plan production. Focus of responsibilities will generally be related to a specific Engineering sub-type.

+ Ability to manage computer file systems, understand file interrelationships and customize data with the individual files.
+ Ability to identify specific information from a substantial amount of related data or written information from such sources as legal property descriptions, reports, survey notes, manuals and specifications.
+ Ability to read and understand the terminology and symbols used in survey notes, plans, shop drawings, aerial photographs, and maps to interpret data and information for use in designing construction plans and maps.
+ Ability to accurately transfer information in numerical, written, sketched, or electronic format from sources such as legal descriptions, survey data, aerial photographs, and computer files to final plans and maps.
+ Ability to visualize and illustrate a concept or design in two or three dimensions.
+ Identifies errors, problems, or non-standard situations and suggests alternatives.
+ Develops and implements custom automated drafting and design procedures under supervision.
+ Evaluates pros/cons of new drafting /design software.
+ Provides local IT support.
+ Software proficiency: Microsoft-Outlook, Word, Excel. Microstation and InRoads preferred. AutoCADD capabilities a plus. Must be familiar with UDOT CADD standards and details.


Job Qualifications:
HS or GED, plus 1-2 years technical school or Associate of Science, plus 3 years experience
