TITLE: CIVIL ENGINEER LEVEL II

REPORTS TO: ?PROJECT MANAGEMENT / DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING

SUPERVISED BY: SENIOR ENGINEERING STAFF

GENERAL SUMMARY:

With direct supervision from senior staff, prepares site development and engineering plans and specifications for commercial and industrial sites in conformance to client requirements and local ordinances. Works with and advises other disciplines on site issues that may impact architectural development and building systems.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

1.????? Possess / demonstrate the engineering knowledge and understanding to design and analyze civil systems including underground utilities, paving, grading and drainage.

2.????? Possess / demonstrate the ability to develop site layout(s) in accordance with zoning and other applicable ordinances and requirements.

3.????? Possess / demonstrate the graphic ability to produce construction documents per company standards whether presenting mark-ups to CAD drafter or performing CAD drafting.

4.????? Possess / demonstrate the communication skills to work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

1.????? With assistance, edit project specifications.

2.????? Maintains organized project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.

3.????? Conduct field measuring and/or survey verification at project site.? Perform basic topographic surveying for minor projects.

4.????? Review product submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents; specify action necessary for compliance.

5.????? With project manager, attend meetings with governmental agencies as required for obtaining site plan approval.

6.????? Research design options for consideration by senior engineer.

7.????? Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

1.?? BSCE and EIT (may be in progress)

EXPERIENCE:

?

5 -10 years related and progressively more responsible experience in site design and engineering.? Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation, Microsoft Word, and Excel software applications.
