DESIGN INTERNSHIP – REUTERS.COM


 





Purpose of Position



Based in New York, the Intern will focus on editorial design, mock-ups and ad campaign sales pitches.

The development responsibilities involve execution of  in-house designs utilizing development based upon industry best practices. The intern will gain understanding of HTML, DHTML, CSS, and Flash.



Administrative responsibilities will include maintenance of sales extranet and intranet, and the creation an image library.


 


Required Skills/Experience



* Basic knowledge of Flash animation and ActionScript 2.0 
* Basic knowledge of HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript
* Strong design skills
* Strong knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative work spirit 


 


Good to have



* Familiarity with XML
* Experience designing for the news environment
* Knowledge of Motion Graphics design


* Familiarity designing for template-driven sites and Content Management Systems
