Environmental Planner

Environmental Planner / NEPA

Daily Duties: Prepare categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, environmental overviews, and general planning and multi-use studies for minor projects in both rural and urban environments. Assist in the preparation of environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, general planning and multi-use studies, and environmental overviews for large or complex projects. Attend field reviews and prepare field notes. Engage in frequent client and agency contact with a limited decision-making role. Serve as project lead (including tracking project budget, adhering to project schedule, and reporting project status to project manager) on relatively small jobs ($20,000 or less) and as task leader for discrete components of larger jobs. Identify, develop, and maintain marketing leads related to project work. Other duties as assigned commensurate to the level of education and experience.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Biology, Planning, Anthropology, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or Environmental Studies or closely related field with three to twelve years of experience. Need excellent technical writing and verbal communication, and public speaking skills. Demonstrates competent knowledge of firm?s word processing, spreadsheet, and data management systems. Must be able to work and hike in extreme temperatures, on steep, rocky, uneven terrain. Must be able to communicate clearly. Must have a valid Utah driver?s license and a vehicle for local travel, as requested.
