Estimating Associate #DEEST

ProLogis is seeking an Estimating Associate at our Corporate Headquarters in Denver. Our office is located near Pena Blvd. & I-70.

 

This position will provide preconstruction support work for industrial warehouse real estate development pursuit projects throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

 

Basic work assignments will consist of some or all of the following:

 

? Estimating:

A.  Quantity survey work.

B.  Conceptual and budget estimate preparation.

C.  Alternate and Value Engineering pricing.

D.  Research, verify and recap local entitlement and permit costs.

E.  ProForma preparation.

 

? Specification Preparation:

A.  Assess RFP requirements and develop initial outline specifications.

B.  Evaluate ProLogis standards, and develop appropriate alternate price strategies.

C.  Production of presentation specifications.

 

? Drawing Preparation:

A.  Assess RFP requirements and develop initial building size(s) and footprint(s).

B.  Production of preliminary site plan and floor plan drawings.

C.  Research and verify existing code and zoning requirements, setbacks, restrictions and covenants.

D.  Production of presentation drawing(s).

 

? Bid Process (Consultant and General Contractor):

A.  Assist in developing project bidder?s list.

B.  Prepare, distribute and administer bid packages and process.

C.  Receipt, tabulation and analysis of bids.

 

? Schedule Preparation:

A.  Assess RFP requirements and develop initial project schedule.

B.  Coordinate with project team to develop appropriate presentation schedule strategy.

C.  Production of presentation schedule(s).

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years? work experience in the following roles:

?Conceptual and hard bid estimating, bid package preparation and bid analysis work.

?Planning, zoning, building and related municipal approval processes and codes.

?Preparing performance based specifications.

?Preparing preliminary project schedules.

 

Experience and working knowledge of bulk warehouse and distribution facilities, including industry typical tilt-up concrete, precast concrete and pre-engineered metal building systems, concrete slab on grade technologies, roofing systems, fire sprinkler, HVAC and electrical systems is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

?General Contractor work experience as an estimator or project manager.

?Bachelor?s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or Business.

?Hands-on working knowledge of AutoCAD (ProLogis will train, if necessary).

?Experience using MS Office programs, i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook.

 

Minor travel will be required for this position.

 

Candidate(s) will be selected based on experience and ability to support the North American Preconstruction Group?s customers (external customers, senior management, regional directors, project managers and capital deployment officers).
