About the Opportunity

The Furniture Project Manager oversees the definition and execution of large, complex move projects involving systems furniture and case goods in a corporate environment.  The Furn. PM is responsible for coordination with all trades involved with the move and the end user; he/she works to develop implementation strategies that increase the efficiency and decrease the cost of move activity.  He/she defines the furniture requirements for the move and works with warehousing/asset management to ensure that the furniture required for the move is available and prepared for the move project.  The Furn. PM also manages minor TI construction, oversees asset management and disposition, issues RFPs and selects winning bidders for large projects, etc.

 

Essential Functions and QualificationsMaintain constant contact with customer to assess satisfaction level and to cultivate opportunities for new services or products.Ability to develop RFP requirements and coordinate response from outside vendorsUnderstanding of reconfiguration processes, and use of existing inventory.Ability to prepare cost analysis spreadsheetsDecision Making/Communications/Work Style:Works autonomously, directs others and informs group as decisions are made.Influences decision making  by providing analysis and recommendations.Ability to lead major move meetings that involve multiple disciplines (movers, IT, Telecom, furniture, construction, etc.)Ensures excellent communication and acts as liaison between internal and external service providers, customers, and management.  Responsible for overall direction of move projects and team, scheduling of resources, and scheduling of project.Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
