Project Director (London or Frankfurt Office)

Marriott International, Inc., a leader in the hospitality industry, has an immediate opportunity for a Project Director to be located either in our London, UK or Frankfurt, Germany Regional offices.  This position will support the VP of International Project Management in delivery of quality project management services to all Marriott Brands (Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Ritz-Carlton, etc) in the UK, Ireland, Spain, and the Middle East.  The services should be delivered at the best possible cost and the communication of the status of projects, issues, problems and resolutions on a daily basis to customers, owners and senior management.  This individual will take a leadership role in developing a positive relationship with the Regional Teams and Ownership.  This position will be accountable for the day to day management of project teams as assigned by the VP of International Project Management.  Expect up to 50% international travel.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

? Responsible for the management of multiple projects across brand and regional lines.

? Single point accountability for delivering projects on schedule, within budget and to the quality standards required by the client.

? Responsible for developing and managing overall project execution plan which focuses on problem avoidance, problem identification and resolution, the delivery of cost effective and predictable results and the organization and administration of appropriate resources.

? Responsible for management of Project Managers and coordination of other disciplines as required to successfully complete projects.

? Develop relationships with and provide consistent communications to hotel ownership, regional teams and properties.

? Develop a design and construction contracting strategy for each project which properly balances schedule, cost and risk avoidance.

? Develops, executes and manages contracts in accordance with divisional contracting policies and corporate guidelines.

? Markets and actively supports the products and services provided by Marriott International?s Architecture and Construction Division.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

? Bachelor?s Degree in Architecture, engineering, and/or Project Management required.

? International work experience and strong project management skills required.

? 10-15 years of experience in the disciplines of architecture, estimating, interior design, product specification, procurement, construction management and accounting.

? Experience in lodging design, construction and renovation processes a plus.

? Strong leadership and communication skills.

? Solid experience in developing project budgets.

? Good business judgment and ability to creatively resolve problems in relationships, schedule or other project and program related issues.

? Fluency in English required.  Proficiency in a secondary language highly desirable.
