SENIOR PLANNER

Rick Engineering Company is a multi-discipline planning, landscape architecture and engineering firm with over 430 employees, seven offices throughout California and Arizona and has been in business for over 50 years. We are seeking to add a Senior Planner and currently have a career opportunity in our San Diego office to expand the Urban Design and Redevelopment practice.  Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively coordinate and present at public meetings. The experience and ability to manage personal and projects. Applicant should posses working knowledge and experience in the land entitlements and discretionary approval processing.  Candidate with local knowledge of codes, policies, City and County guidelines is a plus. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparation of specific plans; land use and subdivision, community master plans, redevelopment and urban design at a variety of scales for both private and public sectors. This is a career track position that offers unparalleled opportunities for professional growth with a competitive financial benefits package.

 

Candidate must be self-motivated, communicate effectively, produce high quality work and facilitate in a team-like manner. Strong site planning, hand or graphic computer skills are required. 

A degree in Planning, or related field plus eight years experience or equivalent experience of 10 years is required. Rick Engineering offers a highly competitive salary and benefit package. Education Requirement: BS or MA in Planning or Landscape Architecture. An advanced degree or an AICP licensing is a plus.
