Position Requirements:

 

WPIIDC, Inc. has a great opportunity for a Senior Architectural Designer in our Quincy, MA office; the candidate must have 3-8 years of design experience. The candidate will be provided with the opportunity to assist in preparing architectural designs for national and international retailers. This position will allow the candidate to enhance and develop their design experience while working with technology based design tools, using the latest in 2D and 3D imaging techniques.

 

Organizational skills and ability to independently perform architectural design work are mandatory. Proven time management, a strong portfolio and excellent communication skills are essential. Knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements and retail planning concepts is desired. This position also requires the ability to assemble color schemes and materials as part of the building design process. The candidate must be able to effectively discuss color schemes and designs with a municipality's planning department and/or present the same during public, discretionary hearings. The candidate will also provide design sketches to the firm?s clients and our design department as a foundation to initiate the building design process. The candidate will also be responsible for other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by management. Minimal driving will be required and reliable transportation is necessary.  Proof of a valid driver?s license and insurance will be required upon employment.  Other means of travel may also be required (including occasional airplane travel). Travel to CA for a minimum of one week training will be required. A Professional Degree in Architecture is required and registration is preferred but not mandatory.

 

Our focus on technology based design methodologies requires fluency with the following computer applications:

 

> Autodesk AutoCAD or Architectural Desktop 2005

> Adobe Photoshop CS

> Adobe Illustrator CS

> Microsoft Office Professional Suite

 

Beneficial application knowledge would include:

 

> Discreet 3ds max 7

> Macromedia Flash and Director

> Discreet Combustion

 

After employment, the successful candidate will need to present evidence of their U.S. Citizenship or their legal right to live and work in the United States.
