Job Description:
HNTB Architecture
has a design practice located on 7th Street, NW, in the heart of the arts district in Washington, DC. The studio's design and technical excellence on project types as diverse as airports, federal and civic buildings, and sports facilities, is achieved through inquisitive and creative design exploration and problem solving. Studio commonalities include a charette-oriented design process; a focus on integrated environmental sustainability; and expertise in design, interior design, design-build, and urban planning.

The terminal planner position assists in the production and completion of design and construction documents through the gathering of information, organization of data, and application to documents.

+Fully competent architect in all conventional aspects of architecture.
+Independently perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity.
+Plan and conduct tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation of architectural projects.
+Performs analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies and limited design layouts.
+Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data.
+Selects and determines procedures in architectural matters.
+Writes reports and specifications. Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations.
+Confers with architects and engineers for the purpose of explaining and interpreting architectural standards, codes or regulations.
+Prepares progress reports and keeps superiors informed as to the status of projects.


Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Airport Terminal planning and design of systems including baggage handling, passenger boarding bridges, signage and other related systems.
