3D Modeler/Animator

Do you love to build 3D models and create character animations? Are you a gifted digital artist? 15 letters, a design studio in Chicago, is looking for a 3D Modeler and Animator to join our team.  The 3D Modeler/Animator will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team which develops online advertising, games, promotions, and websites for clients that range from large industry-leading companies to small not-for-profits. The ideal candidate must have a strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly conceptualize and create new graphics of the highest quality. She or he must be creative, independent and have extensive experience in Photoshop, digital retouching, animation, and 3d graphics, preferably 3D Studio Max. As a team member, she or he must be a good listener, be comfortable working with others to develop character animations, and be able to meet deadlines.

 

Qualifications:

? Expertise in the creation of 2D and 3D graphics in a wide variety of styles

? Proficiency in 3D Studio Max and Adobe Photoshop

? Experience and working knowledge in the following:

? modeling (characters and environments, both hi and lo poly)

? texturing (characters and environments, multiple styles)

? animation (understanding of timing, follow-thru, weight, balance, etc.)

? rigging (mechanical and organic characters using bones and Character Studio)

? lighting (ability to create mood through color scheme, tone and contrast)

? effects (creation of particle systems on other in-engine effects)

 

Pluses:

? Gaming industry experience

? Experience with Painter, Premiere, or After Effects

? Experience with modern shader effects (i.e. normal and specular maps)

? Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Flash

? Strong technical aptitude related to game engine technologies and 3D tools
