AV Design Engineer/Installer

Description:
Provide engineering support for Multimedia Services. This includes evaluation, design, installation, maintenance and repair of Television Production and Audio Visual Systems.
Work as part of a team to design, coordinate, integrate, wire and install Audio Visual, Teleconference and Television Production Systems and Equipment. Perform system modifications and upgrades to current systems. Interface professionally with all levels of staff when providing support. (Identifying design criteria, touch panel layout, installing, connecting or operating equipment, etc.)
Provide maintenance support to include testing, calibration, preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repair of equipment supported by A-V Services.
Provide teleconferencing support to include designing, installing and configuring teleconferencing systems. Investigate technology, anticipate future needs, recommend technology changes and process to implement them.
Provide logistical support by maintaining and replenishing inventory of parts and supplies. Provide recommendations on equipment needs for budget planning.

Operate cameras, audio and video recording equipment, projectors and other equipment associated with A-V support. Deliver, setup A-V equipment and instruct clients on use.

Qualifications:
Required:
Associate degree or equivalent in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related field with at last 5 years of current/relevant Engineering related experience providing direct engineering support to Audio Visual, Teleconference and TV Production installations. Soldering skills necessary to replace SMD electronic components. Ability to create and modify technical drawings, read schematics, and troubleshoot AV/Video equipment (i.e.VCR's, cameras, routers, switchers) to the component level. Familiarity with computer networking, VTC, and IP addressing. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship

Desired:
AMX programming experience. Experience with Visio Technical and MS Project.

Special Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work occasional overtime. Drive an APL vehicle as needed to transport equipment. Applicants will be subject to deriving record evaluation. Must have normal vision and color acuity.
