JOB SUMMARY:

This is a hands-on position responsible for coordinating content for one or more channel, or feature, sections on IB Web sites using a variety of syndicated and non-syndicated content suppliers. It will include working directly and indirectly with business development to target and implement channel resources outside story content (i.e. tools and functionality partners.). Strong communication and organizational skills are needed. Feature writing experience and 1-2 years working experience in television, newspaper or the Internet preferred.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Edits, repurposes, and writes materials for target audiences integrating compelling and creative text, still images, audio- and video-file components, and links to relevant Internet resources to create an appealing and thoughtful online content package. Ensures accuracy of stories by double-checking any necessary facts in assigned projects. Ensures that all edited text goes through necessary reviews. Checks art/text consistency for assigned projects. Works effectively within the Channel team to support the work of other editors.

Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions. Ability to work with a positive attitude. Ability to work well in a multitasking environment paying close attention to details.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Four-year college degree in journalism, publishing, communications, English, marketing, or related coursework preferred. Established journalistic track record. Familiarity with word processing software; Word preferred. Internet journalism experience preferred. Ability to quickly learn new technologies, including proprietary content management system.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge or experience in specific content areas, including Money/Business, Tech, Automotive, Travel. Familiarity with AP style.
