Assistant Director - Programming Development/Communications/Management/media outreach

Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM), a donor supported Christian media organization, requires a successful manager with proven experience in programming (TV and/or radio) to oversee the Programming area in the United States Ministries?Division (USM.)? LHM's?flagship program, The Lutheran Hour?, is the world's longest-running Christian outreach radio program. It airs weekly on more than 800 stations.

Responsibilities include: assisting the USM Director with development, production, and distribution of media outreach programs; monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of LHM?s programs in relation to strategic planning; assisting in establishment of USM goals, strategies, procedures and budgeting; supervising the Programming and Distribution staff, including staff performance evaluations; and chairing The Lutheran Hour? Programming Committee.

Essential Qualifications:Bachelor?s degree in a communications, marketing, or business.? At least four years of audiovisual (e.g., television & film) development, production, and promotion experience.? The successful candidate will have experienced developing programs from concept stage to fulfillment and will take an essential role in the production, editing, and distribution of those programs. Experience in the development and distribution of radio programming. Strong creativity, writing, and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. Three to five years of management and leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in communications, marketing, or business. At least five years experience as a Radio or Television Program Director. Experience in Direct-Marketing. A strong Christian Background
