DIRECTV, the nation’s leading and fastest growing digital television service provider is looking for a talented, energetic and motivated Advanced Services Broadcast Operator to join their Broadcast Center in Los Angeles, CA.


 


Responsibilities include following established procedures. The ideal candidate will have proficient use of electronic measuring instruments and computer control systems, monitor signals and interactive applications on assigned channels being transmitted to DIRECTV subscribers. Control, monitoring, and synchronization of interactive programming content with television programs through live switching. Assist supervisor in resolving issues with incoming/outgoing signals. Reconcile on actual on air interactive content with program schedule planning and communicates potential discrepancies to management. Monitor and troubleshoot automated playback control systems.


 




Must be able to monitor simultaneously occurring multiple events or monitor sports events being broadcast live and have rapid reaction time needed to selectively pinpoint problems and/or insert promotional material as scheduled. Must have in-depth knowledge of the company's broadcast control system and the ability to use complex electronic measurement and test instruments, and follow written and verbal instructions. Must have well-developed interpersonal relationship skills and work closely with others in a team environment. Must have 2 years of college or technical school. Requires 2-5 years of experience within broadcast industry. In addition, must be able to work various shifts, overtime and holidays in a 24x7 operating environment.
