Broadcast Scheduling Coordinator

Provider of satellite entertainment programming to U.S households




DIRECTV’s Los Angeles Broadcast Center is seeking Resource Scheduling Coordinators to schedule transmission routing, equipment and / or people for on air programming and content.  

Resource Scheduling Coordinators will perform work in one or more of four areas: 

 

? Sports and special events transmissions

? Service (Content / Programming) Management

? Playlist / Log processing

? Personnel scheduling

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

? Collect and organize transmission, programming and production information from internal and external Operations, Technical, Sales, Programming, Production and Executive staff. 

? Verify, enter and update information into databases, spreadsheets and / or work orders.

? Coordinate computer processing and reprocessing of programming playlists / logs.

? Support Personnel Scheduling activities for unplanned absences of Broadcast Center staff.

? Perform special projects and other tasks as assigned.



1 -2 years entertainment / broadcasting / satellite transmission.  Knowledge of standard Broadcast Industry practices and procedures as well as standards  and practices in a multi channel (10+) uplink or broadcast facility. Ability to work in fast paced, ever changing environment, with limited supervision and under pressure. Strong organizational abilities and follow through capabilities. Great Customer Service skills. PC skills in Outlook (strong), Excel, Word, light Visio required.  Experience with computerized databases for traffic, scheduling, logging highly desirable.  Ability to work any shift, including holidays in 24 hour operational environment.
