Computer Services Technician - (RS13567)

Audio Visual Services Corporation(TM) (AVSC) is the leading provider of audiovisual equipment rentals, staging services and related technical support to hotels, event production companies, trade associations, convention centers and corporations.

Position Overview

Responsible for providing Technical and Operational support of computer hardware, software, peripherals and networks for box rentals and events. Responsibilities also include assisting the DRS, AE, PM or DAV with events serviced by Rental Services and PSAV as a part of the Computer Services core offering, from pre-planning through successful completion of the event. The Technician must travel 85% of the time to locations throughout the U.S.



Position Accountabilities

?Provide pre-event advice and recommendations to DRS/clients/AE's/PM's/ DAVs/ DOSs about computer hardware, software, peripherals and networks.

?Assist DRS/AE's/PM's/DAVs/ DOSs as needed in interpreting Client's specifications and creating equipment pull sheets for the warehouse. Provide recommendations for subrentals of any computer equipment not provided by Rental Services.

?Responsible for pulling and staging computer equipment for outgoing shows/events as needed.

?Create standard and custom images for rental computer equipment. Equipment consists of standard issue as well as sub-rented computers sourced for the Rental Services location.

?Keep software "Images" (Operating System, Basic Office Applications, Anti-Virus, Browsers and Plug-ins) up to date with latest versions of applications and drivers. Maintain library of standard images.

?Re-image computers after each use to clean off user data and prepare for next rental.

?Maintain rental computer hardware to ensure equipment is rental ready and will perform correctly for the customer. Maintain hardware / software inventory.

?Supervise setup and teardown of all computers, peripherals and networks on show site when needed. Ensure that all software is loaded and working correctly to client's satisfaction.

?Supervise local labor or union personnel performing setup and teardown of computer equipment.

?Assist exhibits' setup personnel with staging and setup of computer equipment for exhibits as needed.

?Ensure that all computer storage and computer work areas are kept clean and organized at all times.

?Ensure that all computer equipment is accounted for and packed correctly at the close of assigned shows. Assist with load out to include packing of trucks.

?Maintain a high level of technical and troubleshooting competency on all operating systems, software applications, hardware and network systems used by Full Rental Services.



Job Requirements

?Associates Degree or equivalent in Computer Science
?Minimum 2 years of related technical support experience
?Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
?Ability to travel extensively up to 85%
?Understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, trouble shooting
?Ability to create images for multi-configuration PC hardware.
?Full knowledge of software drivers and patches and knowledge of where to obtain the most current versions.
?Strong customer service skills
?Industry Certifications a plus
