Teen People is seeking a consumer marketing director who can unite his/her inner teen with marketing savvy and a spirit of reinvention. The stakes are high as we look to take Teen People to the next level.

Responsibilities start with managing all aspects of Teen People?s consumer marketing business: rate base management, profit growth, subscription/retail marketing strategy, and consumer research agenda. A key member of the Teen People management team, the consumer marketing director champions the reader both within the Teen People organization and in the advertising marketplace, and works closely with the publisher and editor to set strategy in all areas.

Beyond the day-to-day workings of the magazine, the key deliverable for this position is to collaborate with the management team and senior management in the People Group to develop a long term plan that enables Teen People to meet the needs of the Teen People consumer as her media consumption choices evolve.

A strong candidate for this position is grounded in the fundamentals of circulation but also has a track record of meeting challenges with out-of-the-box solutions. Success with partnership marketing and experience in digital media and cross-discipline project work are especially relevant. Independent thought is valued, strong relationship and communication skills are essential, and team management experience is a prerequisite.
