Position Description:
To design and accurately produce direct mail advertising materials through effective use of desktop publishing equipment, software, and file management technique. Produce moderately complex ads such as tabs and coupon booklets. Build a thorough knowledge of internal products, processes and clients.
Your primary responsibilities will be:
Utilizing Desktop Publishing (e.g. Macintosh) skills, produce accurate ads including type, logos, and clip art. Utilize and maintain scanners. Proficiency with output devices and file back-up techniques.
Accurately interpret and apply layout and production according to print order, client, Sales Associate instruction, and ADVO specifications and requirements.
Maintain organization of information contained in job envelope and computer files.
Maintain computer equipment and peripheral devices and work area in concert with established ADVO standards.
Produce an average of 15 ads per week.
Perform other related tasks as directed by the Manager, which may be regionally specific.
Typical decisions made or referred:
Make appropriate judgement to improve the overall quality of an ad providing it does not violate the integrity of the rough layout.
Suggesting alternative designs
Typical problems encountered:
Understanding and interpreting clients actual needs as they relayed by a second or third party.
Creating effective advertising with software and hardware limitations.
Deciphering poorly prepared rough art and interpreting instructions on rough art.


Knowledge & minimum qualifications you will need:
Bachelors Degree desirable
Training on MAC System with 1-2 years experience.
Knowledge of Quark, Express, Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop.
