Financial Analyst

POSITION PURPOSE: (SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION)

The purpose of the position is managing the Guild?s budget and forecasts, investments and cash flows and to support the Director of Finance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This section provides a general summary of the most significant job duties performed.  It does not explain in detail every single duty performed.

 Preparation of budget, forecasts and variation analysis.  This includes meeting with department heads with frequent follow up, predicting future revenues and expenses and detail account analysis using analytical skills and the general ledger system.  Co-ordinate budget input and budget to actual output from the general ledger system with Controller.Management reports: Design, prepare, and defendDesign and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports from general ledger system to senior management and board members.Develop and prepare power point presentations for Finance Committee and National Board meetings.Defend reports and answer questions during senior management and Finance Committee meetings.Monitor investment performance and maintain relationship with investment advisors.Evaluate cash flow and liquidity to maximize investment potential through the use of the on-line bank system and general ledgerAssist financial management in evaluating opportunities and issues throughout the companyEvaluate financial impact of lease versus buy transactionsReview real estate agreementsSpecial projects as required.  These usually involve ad-hoc reporting, financial analysis and modeling.Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

?  Strong finance, budget, modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills

?  Negotiating skills, able to negotiate with tact and diplomacy

?  Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

?  Advanced Excel knowledge required

?  Able to accurately type using Ms Word and Excel

?  Able to use PC applications and understand general ledger financial systems

?  Detail oriented

?  Able to organize and coordinate multiple tasks under daily deadlines

?  Able to work under pressure

?  Able to prioritize tasks

?  Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor

?  Must be able to work in a very stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged

?  Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG?s sole discretion

?  Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the SAG determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs

?  Oracle experience a plus

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors degree in accounting, economics or finance; 1-2 years finance experience
