Graphics Specialist

Satisfy customer requirements for color document services utilizing iGen3 equipment within a single or multiple customer location

- Understand customer requirements, prioritize and schedule jobs for on-time completion in a color digital production environment
- Must have good eye for color in a printing context and the ability to accurately adjust colors to match customer specs
- Maintain organized file storage and retrieval system and perform scheduled backups
- Possess aptitude and willingness to perform frequent, critical machine maintenance
- Effectively utilize front end to manage workflow and prioritize print jobs
- Preflight skills and knowledge helpful
- Knowledge of page layout and imposition helpful
- Knowledge of digital front end technology a plus
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Degree in Graphics Arts, Imaging Science or Printing Technology preferred
- Knowledge of color calibration processes and instruments desired
- Understanding of basic color theory, digital file processing and workflow management is essential
- Color graphic design or production experience helpful
- Understanding of substrates and their characteristics/limitations needed
- Technical and mechanical aptitude strongly desired
- Experience with various types of PDLs (i.e. Postscript or PDF) desired
- Proficiency with multiple operating systems required (i.e. Win 98, 2000, NT, XP, DOS, Mac OS9/10, Unix, Linux etc.)
- Experience working with digital color output devices (printers, imagesetters) helpful
- Proficiency with Desktop Publishing/Graphics and Microsoft Office Software desired.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to distinguish between colors & shades of the same color
