Maintenance & Production

Job Description: Times Square Studios in NYC is seeking a Maintenance and Production Engineer.



Responsibilities include the following:
* Primary - technical maintenance of broadcast video and audio equipment.
* Secondary - technical supervisor for studio productions

A. Maintenance and repair of broadcast technical equipment. Work with the manager of technical services developing and implementing repair protocols.

B. Schedule and perform routine maintenance, including addressing work orders arising from daily engineering reports.

C. A working/operational knowledge of broadcast production and transmission systems.

D. The ability to assess equipment failures or inoperability and make corrections.

E. Establish a regular system of preventative maintenance by tracking within database.

F. Develop a working knowledge of the facility as a whole.
1. How the house operates outside of the equipment.
2. Inter-departmental procedures and protocol.

G. Technical supervisor during a studio production

H. Provide technical liaison/mediation between production clients and the facility. Act as point person in maintaining the technical aspects of the studio.

I. Provide assistance and instruction as needed on the facility's operation before and after a shoot. Mediate and arrange for support when technical problems occur. Verify that all system levels and timings meet house specifications. Be on call throughout the shoot for technical assistance.



Necessary Qualifications include:
* College Education
* Minimum 8 years experience in television broadcast.
* Working knowledge and experience of spreadsheet, database and CAD software
* Technical aptitude with current digital (HD) broadcast equipment which includes cameras, video switchers, audio consoles, routing switchers and digital matrix communications systems.
* Operational knowledge of IP systems, LAN networks and PBX systems.
* An ability to work in high pressure live broadcast and/or cable network production environments.
* Perform independently and support of high profile / demanding clients.
* A client service oriented ethic with an ability to prioritize.
