MUSIC BROADCAST COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST

SUMMARY

This position must be able to make independent decisions regarding broadcast programs. Position must have the ability to replace a song that is no longer available on CD with one that is available. Position must be able to locate hard to find CDs using the internet.

SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum requirements are a high school diploma (or GED) and 1 to 3 years of similar/related experience in the music industry or an equivalent education and experience. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Internet Explorer.

DUTIES

Jukebox CD Ordering - The first of every month, CDs are ordered for the broadcast jukebox programs. There are 30, 60, and 90 day rotation programs, and how many programs need to have CDs ordered depends on the month. TheWell is used as the source of the CDs, and then the internet is used to order the discs from different distributors.

Jukebox Tracking - A spreadsheet is created that has the CDs that needed to be ordered, and the information about where they came from, and when they should be here.

Jukebox Communication - In the above spreadsheet the availability is also listed of the product if we can not locate it. This is used by Creative Services to obtain needed information.

Jukebox QC (Checking, Out Logs) - Outlogs are gathered into a spreadsheet so that reports can be run to determine if the rules, schedules, playclocks, and calendars are working correctly.

Jukebox QC (Listening to LE Broadcast) - Everyday a different program will be listened to (multitask), so that we will have a better idea of what the final broadcast program sounds like. Changes will be made to the program so that Muzak has the best sounding programs available.
