PUBLIC RELATIONS REP SR

Plans and conducts public relations programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for employer or client.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Participates in planning, preparation and dissemination of publicity and good-will information concerning the organization through newspapers, periodicals, and audio-visual communications media.
? Develops written communications, speeches, and personal contacts.
? Performs assignments in specialized areas of public relations activities such as press, radio, T.V., community, stockholder, and intra-industry relations.
? Purchases advertising space and time.
? Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Marketing or related equivalent from four-year college or university, plus 5 to 8 years of Public Relations Agency experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

SKILLS
? Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
? Computer skill requirements include: Advanced MS Word; Intermediate MS Excel; Basic MS Access and; ability to type 35-40 wpm.
? Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
? Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
? Must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.
? With appreciable latitude for actions and decisions, has responsibility for all aspects of difficult projects that are broad in nature and require originality and/or ingenuity.
