Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Job Purpose: As a Photojournalist, you will be responsible for videotaping and editing local news events.
* Videotapes news events.
* Understands and practices ethical journalism.
* Gathers news facts and creates compelling stories when on assignment with or without a reporter.
* Works with daily deadlines.
* Responsible for the daily operations of all ENG equipment including; ENG cameras, portable VTR, ENG editing gear, audio, lighting and microwave equipment.
* Monitors and understands government and public service radio frequencies.
* Operates motor vehicles, live trucks and equipment in helicopter.
* Performs other related duties that insure high quality new coverage.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
* Two (2) years minimum experience as a news photographer.

Eligibility Requirements:
* External applicants must submit a resume/CV on-line to be considered.
* Internal applicants must submit EMS via the GE Career Opportunity System (COS)
* Must be willing to work at the station in San Diego location.
* Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation.
* Must be 18 years or greater.
* Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
* Must have valid drivers license.
* Must have ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift.
* Must submit a tape of own work to be considered.
* Must be able to perate and move heavy news gathering equipment.

Desired:
* Knowledge of Vibrant or other computer based editing preferred.
* High School education desirable.
* College or vocational school education in broadcast communications, journalism or photographer perferred.
* Team player who is flexible.
* Motivated and has ability to work on their own unsupervised.
* Displays a postive work ethic and can work under tight deadlines.
* High degree of integrity and professionalism.
