Job Description: Production Artist - ABC.com ABC.com has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic individual to work with the creative and energetic team responsible for the ABC Television's online presence. We're looking for a top performing web designer to come play a role in the growth of the ABC Network's growing online department. ABC.com supports multiple dayparts and genres, including Primetime, Daytime, Reality, Late Night, Sports and News. The Production Artist is primarily responsible for translating design into optimized digital files that make up a Web site, banner ad, email and newsletters. The Production Artist also assists designers and multimedia editors with design, Flash, and other tools as needed. Other responsibilities are as follows: work with Senior Designer to track, process, develop and deliver all graphical assets for a web site or media campaign. Preserve the integrity of the design while applying it to marketing initiatives. Position includes accurately filing and archiving of assets on project servers.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 2 years experience in design studio, agency or web-related area

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, or related degree a plus

Proven experience in current print and web design

Proficiency in design software and web implementation tools/languages on the Mac: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, ImageReady

Understanding of capabilities of browsers and design constraints on the Web

Solid understanding of image optimization and compression

Understanding of fundamental design principles such as UI, color theory, layout, and typography

Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and creativity

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Preparing, naming, programming and filing according to established specs

Excellent grammar, spelling and attention to detail

Knowledge of television industry in general and ABC network programming a plus
