QA Tester

Vivendi Universal Games, developer and publisher of entertainment software (PC, XBOX, PS2, GC, DS, and GBA), is seeking energetic and self-motivated full time temporary QA Testers.

Requirements for QA Tester:

**Ability to follow directions, remain focused and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
**Familiarity with Windows and/or gaming console platforms.
**Must be able to perform testing on games and other software to verify proper function, data content, performance, usability/playability and hardware/software compatibility.
**Strong written and verbal communication, implementation, and interpersonal skills.
**Excellent organization, time management and analytical skills.
**Must be able to learn, comprehend and apply new concepts, techniques and procedures quickly.
**Must be able to work independently, and with minimal supervision.
**Must be able to follow directions accurately and thoroughly.
**Working knowledge of: QA methodologies, terminology, and tools; multiple computer hardware platforms and configurations; Windows, Macintosh, console and handheld operating systems (all preferred).
**At times overtime is required.
**Must be able to work in the United States.

Summary of Job Duties:

**Follow Test Plan to release software on time and with known quality.
**Isolate and report anomalies and technical issues a consumer might encounter in the product.
**Ensure bug reports are written clearly and accurately, detailing anomalies found and the steps required to repeat those anomalies.
**Review software documentation for accuracy and completeness as it pertains to test objectives for the product.
**Verify fixes are implemented correctly throughout the product cycle.
**Use database to record bugs and specific test results.
**May be required to organize, perform, and communicate progress on small projects.
**Address 'Need Info' bugs assigned to you in a thorough and timely manner.

Purpose of Position:

Perform day to day analysis and examination of entertainment media and associated material as assigned by the QA Project Lead. Perform tests, report anomalies, and verify implemented fixes throughout the QA production cycle.

Basic Position Requirements:

Experience:
Preferred minimum of 1 year experience in QA testing, technical support, or product development on multi-media software, console games, or demonstrated ability to perform accurate and detail work in an equivalent area. Experience with a wide variety of application software. Windows and/or Macintosh experience using Office and game software (combined experience preferred). Experience with console game testing (X Box, Game Boy Advanced, PlayStation 2, Game Cube) a plus. Some training will be provided.

Education:
Preferred: Associate degree in technical field, equivalent work experience, or Bachelors Degree.
