SAS Business Intelligence Reporting

MLB Advanced Media, L.P. (MLBAM) is the interactive media and Internet Company of Major League Baseball. MLBAM manages the official league site, www.MLB.com, each of the 30 individual Club sites, and is the most comprehensive Major League Baseball resource on the Internet. We are seeking to fill a full time SAS Business Intelligence Reporting position immediately

Ideal candidates will have experience in large, high data volume environments. Must be able to thrive both independently when necessary and as part of a larger team.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must for both technical and business audiences.

Description:

The ideal candidate will have the ability to take business user requirements and creatively produce complex reports. The ability to think outside the box is very important. The ability to thrive in an environment with very aggressive deadlines is a must. This position requires knowledge of all aspects of BI, including the report planning, building and implementation of security for the report. SQL and the ability to manipulate normalized data structures, preferably in Oracle, are very important.



Type of reports.
SAS OLAP cubes ? The ability to write code to access and manipulate data to create a final base table. Then use either OLAP Cube Studio or PROC OLAP to create the cube. The ability to tune cubes by using indexes as well as aggregations. The ability to publish the cubes to the SAS Portal using information maps, Web Report Studio, Visual Data Explorer and/or SAS OLAP viewer.
Static Reports ? Ability to create web reports using Information Map Studio, Web Report Studio and Enterprise Guide. Additionally, some reports need to be completely written using SAS Code and then published to the web or emailed from the SAS server.
Dynamic Reports ? Ability to use SAS Stored processes to create run-time reports that include hyperlinks/graphs which are linked to additional stored processes.
JAVA, JAVASCRIPT and HTML programming is a plus.
Detailed experience in all aspects of SAS Coding. (Below is small example)
Data Step programming (i.e. by group processing, point=, merge, modify, update, set statements, functions, formats, arrays, etc.)
SAS/MACRO
SAS/GRAPH ? ability to create multiple types of graphs with different device output such as JPG, JAVA, GIF, etc.
SAS/STAT
SAS/BASE ? (all PROCs)
PROC OLAP
PROC SQL and PROC SQL with Oracle pass-through.
Ability to issue SUN UNIX OS commands from within SAS Code.
LSF for scheduling batch jobs.
Experience with all or most of the following SAS Products is ideal.
