STAFF ACCOUNTANT – ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Job Description:
A Westwood, Los Angeles-based film production company is looking for an experienced accountant to handle accounts payable and related functions.  Company is fast-paced and dynamic with multiple feature films currently in production and distribution through major studios.

 

The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant ? Accounts Payable include, but are not limited to:

A/P and Accounting:

*Handle vendor invoice entry, process related payments, and respond to vendor inquiries.

*Maintain cash summary reports for management use.

*Generate production billbacks.

*Ensure payments are coded accurately and prepare other related journal entries.

*Reconcile bank statements.

*Complete ongoing accounting research projects.

*Provide support for tax filings and annual audit.

*Oversee PO entry and matching with vendor invoices

*Supervise A-P clerk
 
Job Requirements:

*At least 3 years prior experience working in Accounts Payable ? Accounting position.

*Proficiency with Excel, MS Office, and major accounting software package.

*Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with external and internal contacts.

*Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but not required.

*Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate high attention to detail and be a quick learner.
