Senior Director of eMarketing

The Director will play a strategic role by working with marketing directors, business unit GMs, product development staff, and IT executives to define and manage our portfolio of eMarketing and Web analytics projects.  The projects held in this portfolio will be defined, guided, and measured by business goals including revenue growth, increased subscriber counts, and operational efficiency.





 

Act as the ranking technology manager within the eMarketing PMO (program management organization).  In this role, the Director will work with both business and technology leaders to define high-level product plans and requirements, set priorities for development, and create a development plan (which may include system purchases) that meets the requirements set forth by the PMO.  Manage the day to day activities of three technology Directors in the areas of eCommerce, Member Services, and Campaign Management/Web Analytics.  Working with the Director for Quality Assurance and Software Testing, establish more robust testing and change control procedures for consumer marketing systems.  These procedures should include greater use of automation, defined regression test suites, and automation and control of system configurations.  In addition, define quality metrics and goals, putting processes in place to gather data and then use it to improve software development and other activities.  Establish usability and consumer acceptance testing.  With the VP of Operations, define an efficient operating model for eMarketing systems 

 

This position requires candidates with: a) Subject matter expertise in eCommerce and consumer marketing systems; b) At least 10 years of technology management experience, especially in the area of software development; and c) At least 7 years experience managing technology teams, leading to management of at least 20-25 people.At least five years experience leading the development of member services, eCommerce, consumer marketing, or closely-related application development projects.  This work should be associated with Web or broadband products that serve a large population of consumers.  Similarly, at least three years experience leading the implementation and integration of third-party eCommerce/consumer marketing software packages.  (Preferred) Ten or more years of software engineering experience, with at least seven years leading software development projects. We strongly prefer candidates with deep experience with J2EE, relational database technologies, Web servers.  We employ OO methods and tools

 

Experience managing software development and/or deployment projects through their entire lifecycle.  Candidates must demonstrate experience and skills sufficient to lead a team of 40 or more engineers, product management, and project management staff.  Applicants must have experience building complex, distributed, mission-critical production systems such as those described above.BS in Computer Science or equivalent required; MS in Computer Science or related field preferred
