Senior Interactive Designer

A.S.K. Learning is a global, high-end multimedia company specializing in e-Learning. With offices in San Francisco, London, Sydney, Beijing, and Singapore, we provide highly creative interactive pieces to Fortune 500 companies on five continents.

We are looking for an experienced and talented Senior Interactive Designer to join our energetic team full-time in downtown San Francisco. Successful candidates must extensive experience with UI development, interactive projects and/or software development, and the ability to create highly attractive, innovative work.

Job Summary

The Senior Interactive Designer will work with one of A.S.K.?s large clients on a long-term e-Learning project. We are putting together a senior design team to translate the client?s business requirements, user needs and technical capabilities into designs that are visually exciting, easy to use and emotionally engaging. The Senior Interactive Designer should have excellent conceptual skills, as well as effective interpersonal and presentation skills, including experience with large projects and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and developers.

Job Description

The Senior Interactive Designer will:

-Brainstorm and conceptualize new projects.
-Take projects from inception to completion.
-Participate in client meetings, and speak to the scope and limitations of new technologies
-Interpret design direction from creative director and implement on a project level.
-Create UI prototypes, style-guides and design specs for specific projects.
-Manage designers and production staff on a project-by-project basis
-Oversee quality control and adherence to project design standards
-Work with project managers to establish production timelines.
-Provide creative innovation for the projects you work on, and for the team as a whole.
-Develop best practices, processes, and innovations to speed development timeline.

Qualifications

-Ability to work on site at our downtown SF office.
-A minimum of four years professional digital design experience with a focus on illustration, character animation, and developing interactive media.
-B.A. in graphic design, interactive design, animation, fine arts, advertising, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
-Strong visual style and thorough understanding of how typography, layout, color, images and interactivity impact design.
-Ability to illustrate and create new assets entirely in Flash.
-Bullet-proof knowledge of interactive Flash movies and proficiency with ActionScript 1.0 or 2.0, including knowledge of ActionScript?s capabilities and limitations.
-Comfort with Photoshop, HTML, and vector graphics programs (Freehand/Illustrator) that comes from repeated use of the applications.
-Knowledge of Swift 3D and Dreamweaver are a plus.
-Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, verbal, and written skills.
-Prior participation as a contributor to or leader of an interdisciplinary team. This will include a creative director, Senior Interactive Designer, other designers, project managers and instructional designers.
-Professional drive and the ability to self-manage tight-timelines and potentially stressful deadlines.
-e-Learning experience and/or software development experience a plus
-Bonus: knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, AICC/SCORM, Cold Fusion, AJAX, and CSS.
